Goji: Juice vs. Dried Berries

Goji berries have been making waves in health news as one of the super foods with multiple health benefits. As more people become educated on the importance of good nutrition, many choose to include Goji berries as part of a healthy daily diet. The question then arises of which form to pick, dried Goji berries, or Goji juice. Both are packed with important vitamins and antioxidants, so the real choice comes down to personal preference.

Dried Goji berries are lightweight, easily portable and can be mixed with a variety of foods. A few will provide a tart treat in trail mix, or impart a nice flavor to a cooked dish like rice. They can be carried in a bag or stored in a desk and are always ready to be eaten by the handful or tossed on top of yogurt, cereal or even a salad. Dried Goji berries provide a lot of opportunity for creative cooking as well as easy snacking.

Goji juice, on the other hand will be a sweeter treat for quenching thirst. Oftentimes it can be found mixed with a variety of other tasty fruit and vegetable juices to give all the healthy boosts with less of the tart flavor. Sugar or preservatives may be added depending on the brand so those with special concerns should check labels.

Variety is the spice of life so choosing berries or juice can always be fun by finding Goji berry recipes online or in a healthy cookbook.
